Rail Pressure — Common Rail Sensor

What it tells you

The rail-pressure sensor reports fuel pressure as a 0.5–4.5V analogue signal. On a scope you watch the rail build during cranking — the ECU won't fire the injectors until pressure clears its threshold — then settle into regulation at idle. A slow rise or a sagging rail points at a worn pump, a stuck regulator, or injector leak-back long before a code sets.
